3D MODELLING + VISULISATION:

At The BRIT School I’ve learnt Maya, Blender and Unreal Engine. In Maya I’ve learnt how to make 3D models and animate them, and in Unreal Engine I have been able to create a realistic-looking 3D environment and make videos of it. In Blender I’ve learnt to sculpt to give models texture and make creatures look life-like.

We were briefed to make a video that will be put on a screen in London Olympia. I went for a 70’s theme because I really love this era so I decided to model a boombox and a vintage TV. The boombox was the most challenging to model as there were many intricate details which I had to replicate. My initial model was quite lacking in detail and after comparing it to my reference photos I noticed this so I improved it by making designs for some of the panels in Adobe Illustrator and UV mapping them to the model.

3D unreal project: for this project I was tasked to make a 3D environment with a main focal point. I made mood boards of a couple different ideas I had but I ended up picking an abandoned tube station. I did research on Aldwych station

to help me get ideas for the environment and started modelling it in Maya then imported it into Unreal Engine. This was my first time using Unreal Engine so it was a steep learning curve at first but after help from teachers and watching some tutorials I was able to pick it up quickly. I designed the graffiti in Photoshop and imported it into unreal and watched a tutorial on how to put it on surfaces.
