MOTION GRAPHICS/EDITING:
These animations/edits were primarily done in After Effects, but also with Maya for the 3D elements. During my studies at BRIT, I’ve been able to learn how to make 3D models as well as animate with them too. I was already quite familiar with After Effects when starting, but I know there is always much room for improvement so I have been learning more about text animation and motion graphics.

Advert for Depop made using After Effects: for this video I was tasked with making an advert campaign for the company Depop to get people talking. I settled on the idea that Depop is "not for everyone" which can seem controversial because usually as a company you want to try and appeal to as many people as possible, but I wanted to aim Depop towards people that want to be unique and express themselves with fashion instead of following trends. To make this video I started off by making the stick figures with the shape tool and I used the effect "Hand drawn effect" to add more interest to the main character of the piece. I the did some research on popular videos on Tiktok and made similar videos within after effects but still using the stick figure cartoon like style. I animated the thumb and facial expressions of the character by adding key frames and editing the shape path. I also did some research on fashion to design the outfit.

“Shades Of Blue” first video
Chloë Wilson music video: For this I was tasked to put the lyrics in time to the song to create a lyric video/visualiser for Chloë's new song "Shades of blue". I was first given creative freedom with it as Chloë didn't know exactly what she was looking for and wanted to get an idea of what it could look like at first so she could decide where she wanted to go with the piece. I started off with quite a visually interesting piece with rotoscoping and animated text effects but Chloë decided she wanted it more toned down but she liked what I'd done with the stretch text animation in the last chorus so that was kept. We went through a few different versions until I produced one she was happy with and then I exported it in 4k quality. This was a great project and I learnt a lot from it as I'd never exported a file in this size before and I had to use QuickTime export for the highest quality which was also new to me. This was also great practice for working with clients and responding to feedback and I hope to work on similar projects like this in the future.
